Here’s What We Know About Deciem’s The Ordinary 2 New Vitamin … – Allure Magazine
If there’s one thing we love more than skincare products that deliver amazing results, it’s skincare products that deliver amazing results on the cheap. No wonder The Ordinary’s double whammy beauty arsenal has become such a cult favorite in so little time (it takes a pretty extraordinary product to rack up a 25,000 person wait list at launch). Time to get excited: the company is launching two new products next month — and they’re both under $7.
This week the brand’s parent company Deciem, announced on Instagram the launch of two new vitamin C products. “We are making the confusing topic of Vitamin C even more confusing: Look out for Vitamin C 30% Suspension in Silicone (C30) and 100% L-Ascorbic Acid Powder (C100), both really affordable, both using pure L-Ascorbic Acid and both coming in July,” the brand wrote.
The Ordinary already offers a range of vitamin C-based skin savers: Vitamin C Suspension 23% + HA (C23), Ascorbyl Glucoside Solution 12% (AG12), Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate Solution 20% in Vitamin F (ATS20) and Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate 10% (MAP10). But the idea is that skin-brightening vitamin C serums currently on the market aren’t always one-size-fits-all solutions. “Vitamin C is a very simple compound that is very complicated to work with and no single Vitamin C formula can suit everyone,” the brand wrote. “It’s really important to us that we offer a solution for everyone to incorporate this amazing and affordable ingredient in their routine.”
While they can deliver amazing results to the tune of brighter, glowier skin, vitamin C-based products containing L-Ascorbic acid, can be complicated and heavy-duty formulas can be rough on sensitive skin. Cue an unpleasant sting followed by unsightly redness.
The Ordinary’s new launch will address both ends of the skin spectrum with its new formulas. Vitamin C Suspension 30% in Silicone is made with silky silicones to 86 any sting — perfect for vitamin C newbies. For the more advanced, 100% L-Ascorbic Acid Powder is a pure pro-level powder that can be mixed with existing products in your routine for a big brightening boost.
If history is any indication, you’ll want to jump on these new formulas fast once they drop in July.
