Could an oral spray decrease risk of HEART failure? Vitamin D to improve heart function – Express.co.uk

Vitamin D supplements have been available in tablet form for years. But for those who find Vitamin D deficiency hard to swallow, an oral spray is hitting shelves.

The transdermal magnesium and oral vitamin spray, pioneered by BetterYou, was trialled on patients who were being treated for heart failure.

It was found to be more effective in improving heart function than traditional digestive routes of tablets or capsules.

Dr Charles Heard, who lead the trial at Cardiff University, said: “The ultra-fast uptake is due to the very absorbent tissue within the mouth and the close proximity of a rich vein network. In some cases it is close to that of IV or intramuscular injections.”
