Jeffrey Epstein Denied Bail in Sex-Trafficking Case – The Wall Street Journal

Financier Jeffrey Epstein will remain in jail while awaiting his trial on sex-trafficking charges, a federal judge ruled Thursday, rejecting his request to be placed under house arrest in his Manhattan apartment.

Mr. Epstein has been in custody at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in lower Manhattan since his July 6 arrest. He pleaded not guilty last week to sex-trafficking counts stemming from what federal prosecutors allege was a yearslong scheme to procure and sexually abuse dozens of girls.
